‘We’re going snail hunting’

In a world where many young girls are inundated with high expectations of how they should look and behave, this S/S’19 collection for girls aged 3 months - 5 years old, aims to ignore this. The ‘we’re going snail hunting’ collection encourages young girls to be expressive and, most of all, to be who they are: which can be achieved through encouraging them to engage in the outdoor environment.

This is reflected through energetic prints that have been inspired by the well known expressionist artist ‘Matisse’. Despite his inability to paint during his older years, he still found a way to express himself through creating paper cut outs. These paper cut outs were the inspiration to the creation of the prints in this collection.

Snails have been used in the prints to support the concept of ‘self expression’. Whilst snails can usually been seen as boring, the prints replaces this boredom with visual expressionism and excitement. The inspiration of these silhouettes stems from the trends of S/S 2019 and the street style of womenswear. Whilst the colour is inspired by the popular and expressive children's character ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’, of whom will be celebrating it’s 50th birthday in 2019.

This collection is designed for little imaginative ones breathing in the fresh air on a spring sunny day whilst hunting for snails.
