Artifact is a design led project with the aim of creating a women’s ready to wear collection through the influence of selected historical times; the launch collection being based around historical Greece. Artifact is focused on encouraging trends with a 21 to 30-year-old demographic by creating expertly made new and updated items of clothing.
Artifact’s key objective is to make consumers aware of the historical information which can be found within clothing. By looking back on history, it often allows us to understand present day society as it can be seen to have shaped the world we live in today. History not only allows us to look back at our own past but also allows us to the gain the knowledge of the origin of others and can contribute into increasing our cross-cultural awareness and understanding (Holland, 2018).
